College Plans

Technology has always been an interesting topic for me. Video games and computers were the main things that influenced this interest. There are a plethora of careers under technology, but I have decided on Computer Hardware Engineer. Originally I wanted to be a Programmer, unfortunately coding was not really my thing. My main priority is to get a major in Computer Hardware Engineer.

I am planning on going to community college. I have decided on De Anza. De Anza is quite close to my home which allows me to have a more flexible schedule. Also, De Anza has a wonderful transfer program, in which I gain an Associates degree, along with other requirements to be able to transfer; this will not only allow me to move up to a university, but also help me gain experience.

My main choice for a university is UC Santa Cruz, which has a very beautiful campus and it has an entire school dedicated to engineering on campus. Also, since the location is Santa Cruz there are many activities, like going to the boardwalk or the beach. In addition, there is a growing computer industry in that area, which gives me the opportunity to gain a job after graduating.

I am not sure how I will pay for college , I do plan on getting a job, but i am not sure if that will be enough. Fortunately, both the university and community do offer multiple financial aid programs.
