I am aiming for a job in the video game industry. I want to create video games and bring joy to people. But I generally want to program anything I can, really. I want to create things by coding computers. My major to get to that would be Computer Science or Software Engineering. I am going to go to Community college for the first two years of my education, but after that, I am going to go to a 4 year university. I would love to go to Cogswell, or UC Santa Cruz. I would most likely have to work while going to college to pay for it, but for the community college, I won’t have to pay very much at all, so I can save money for the two years at university.
While in community college, I would most likely work a simple minimum wage job. But, while going there, I plan on creating a game and being able to put it online to get a bit of revenue and some experience in the field. My long term goal is to bring happiness to people through technology, whether that be a game or through a simple function that could solve a large issue in our lives.
And, to be totally honest, I am only pursuing an education for other people. I am improving myself not just because it will make me money. No, I am improving myself because it means that I can help others better, and make people’s lives easier. And maybe, if I have time, I can help myself in the process. I just want to bring happiness to people through what I can do, and college will help me in that pursuit of happiness for others.
