.The misuse of perscription pain relievers, fentanyl, and heroin
is a national crisis that not only affects public health,
it also affects our nations economical welfare.
More than 29% of people perscribed opiods for chronic pain misuse them, 7-9% of these people will become addicted to opiods or will transfer to using heroin. The increase in injuction drug use is playing a huge role in the rising of neonatal abstinence syndrome and the spreading of diseases like HIV.

According to a survey of drug use conducted by the MTF (Monitoring the Future) teenage drug usage has dropped, only about 14% of 12th graders use illicit drugs other than marijuana, and only 5% of 8th graders.
