College and Career Plans

Career Goals

I like doing physical activities like PE and ROTC. I also like doing work on my computer and driving. I am considering majoring in Criminal Justice. One career I could proceed to join after my major would be law enforcement, where I can be a police officer to patrol around the city and stop criminals. I could also pursue other jobs other than being a police officer in Criminal Justice such as, being a detective or being in corrections. These jobs are similar but don’t involve me in patrolling the city.

College Plans

I plan on getting a degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Phoenix, Los Angeles Pacific University or San Jose State University. I qualify for these schools but if I do not make it into those two schools I can take Criminal Justice online. I could also take a two-year community college then transfer in to save money. There are also more programs I am interested in other than Criminal Justice. Some programs include fire service or homeland security.

I have taken a semester of American Government at Mission College of the summer. This could help me because I could possibly transfer the credits over to my college. I have also learned more about the constitution and law in the American Government.

If Criminal Justice doesn’t work out I plan to pursue a career in the Fire Service. If I pursue a degree in Fire Service, I could get a job as a firefighter. As a firefighter, my job is to primarily extinguish hazardous fires as well as to rescue people and animals from dangerous situations. I am not sure how I will afford college. I could try to get scholarships and financial aid, but it might not be able to pay for everything and I don’t know if I can get a scholarship. I could work while I while I am in school. If one job is not enough then I could work two jobs.
