Career and College Plans

Career Goals

From being able to profit off a pair of shoes to finding ways to save money, I’m planning to major in Business. Business careers can involve finances, accounting, and marketing and I had a prior job experience of being a sales intern at a gym. I believe having a career in Business will improve my decision making skills and will help me be more organized. A career that sparks my interest in business is an accountant, since I’m good at managing my money.

My back up plan would be majoring in Computer Science, since for the last three years, I was enrolled in the STEAM Academy Magnet Program. I was exposed to engineering careers and was able to go to companies, such as Google, Intel, and Adobe. I have an idea of what coding is like, due to my experience of taking Python Programming at Mission College. I didn’t understand the materials that my professor taught me, so I withdrew from the course. I’m willing to give it a second chance because I believe that I can improve. If I majored in Computer Science, I would want a job as a Software Developer because I always wanted to make my own game and the salary.

College Plans

I’m planning to go to a community college and then transfer into a University. The community college that I’m planning to go to is De Anza College. After community college I’ll apply to UC Irvine and UC Davis. If I don’t make it in, I will apply to San Jose State University or apply for a University outside of California, since I love gaining new experiences and traveling. The University I would try applying outside the states would be Mannheim Business School in Germany. I’m currently taking my fourth year of German, so it wouldn’t be as hard for me to communicate and understand the language.

For obtaining a degree in Computer Science, I will go to a community college and then transfer to a university. I will still plan on going to De Anza College and transferring to UC Davis, UC Irvine, and UC San Diego. To pay off my student loans, I would find opportunities to intern at Adobe, since I know they have a program for college students. If that doesn’t work out, I can work at Smash Gym Milpitas or any retail store. I interned at Smash Gym Milpitas before and they offered me a job there and they allowed me to come back whenever I want to.
