Fake News

So what is fake news?

Fake news is news, stories or hoaxes created to deliberately misinform or deceive readers. Usually, these stories are created to either influence people’s views, push a political agenda or cause confusion and can often be a profitable business for online publishers. Fake news stories can deceive people by looking like trusted websites or using similar names and web addresses to reputable news organisations.

On YouTube, one of the biggest concerns is:

clickbait

Clickbait: a piece of content that intentionally over-promises or misrepresents in order to pull users onto a particular website i.e. YouTube. Clickbait generally captures users with a snappy, sensationalist headline — such as “you won’t believe this”, or “you’ll never guess what happened next” — but then fails to deliver on the user’s implicit expectations.

YouTube isn’t “stripping” away the creator’s ability to post

One particular video caught the attention of almost every major creator and the community-at-large, reigniting conversation about the growing problem. The video was by content creator Carmie Sellitto, who goes by touchdalight on YouTube. Entitled “One Kill = One Clothing Removed With My 13-Year-Old Sister,” the video shows Sellitto’s friend and fellow YouTuber, Millie T, removing an article of clothing if he gets a kill in the popular battle royale game “Fortnite”. But here’s the most (SHOCKING) piece of info, he’s in no way related to him, and she’s certainly not 13.

If you’re asking me? It helps the content creators but in a bad way

The main reason why people use clickbait titles on YouTube is to get more video views. If one of your goals is to simply get more views, using a clickbait title along can help you get them. Youtube also pays you simply by looking at the amount of people that have viewed, clicked, and liked your said video. Yea it's understandable people need to make money someway or another in life. Maybe they can't get a job or they never graduated college to get an efficent one. YouTube is their only source of money once they get themselves into a position where people would wanna click on your videos to start something that can be good or bad. Most of the time it's bad.

So what do I do to become one of these AWFUL people?

The answer is not hard really. ANYONE can do it and so can you. Here’s how:
