College and Career Plans

Career Goals
My first career goal is to have a stable job in the space travel/exploration industry. Specifically, I want to be working in the realm of the design and manufacturing of the spacecraft.
My second career goal is to work in mobile apps and pursue a job coding. I want to write code for mobile games and be in charge of doing coding for the physics of the engines.
College Plans
As for college, becoming an aerospace engineer requires a degree. Doing this job without a degree is impossible. I want to go to college at UC Irvine as they have a decent aerospace program. The easiest and most obvious major in the field is Aerospace Engineering but software engineers are also needed for the spacecraft so I could also do that as a minor. UC Irvine has a fairly good program for Aerospace Engineering, but I might as well apply to CIT and MIT as they have great (and maybe even better) programs for Aerospace Engineering.
If I don't decide to become an aerospace engineer, I would go to college for a degree in game design and work in the game engine department. I’d do the job with a degree just incase employers later on don’t accept applicants without a degree. I would want to go at UC Irvine or UC Davis and as a last resort go to San Jose State. UC Irvine has a great apprenticeship program for game design and UC Davis is well-versed in multiple fronts. San Jose State is not critically acclaimed for much but it would be great for my needs as a student of game design.
